Description:
Provenance: Ernest Cooper, lifelong supporter and collector of Roberts' work, commissioned this drawing for his magazine Better Health, in which it was published in 1937.
The four drawings are remarkable for their exquisitely controlled and delicate pen and ink technique. In the nineteen eighties, they were privately published by Sarah and John Roberts, the artist's widow and son, who sent them in the form of calendars as Christmas greetings to their friends.
